These 730nm LED Lights are said to:
Trigger the Phytochrome Pfr/Pr state to switch in 10-15 minutes rather
than the normal two hours, this provides for a more rapid Flower and Bud
initiation, with accelerated development. These are being offered for
the Early Adopters and Experimenters.

The unique characteristic of the phytochrome system in
plants is that this pigment is involved in timing the mechanism of
flowering of both short day and long day plants. This has been verified
from night interruption experiments. Short day plants remain vegetative
when exposed to red night break but flower under fared. |
This concept has been used with favorable
feedback, but, too limited to announce that it is
fully proven as to date! I await your feedback.
Options to consider for experimentation:
1. Use with a separate timer set to
come on at "lights out" and allow it to run for only 5-15 minutes.
2. Run the lights during the full "lights out" period.
(This option is untested) Mount in the far corner.

One form, phytochrome red (Pr), absorbs
short red light in around 660 nm. It is the stable form.
The other form, phytochrome far red (Pfr),
absorbs in the far red or near infrared region of 730nm. On absorbing red
light Pr changes into Pfr. |

Phytochrome is a plasma membrane bound red-light receptor
pigment system involved in the photomorphogenic response of plants. |
|
Some growers suggest that it may be
possible to extend the light period once flowering is initiated in this
manner, perhaps up to 14 hours, thereby increasing total yields. Do
this in a small test. |

Plants grown indoors may grow well under fluorescent
lights, but may not bloom until appropriate levels of infrared radiation
have been introduced. This can be done using special horticultural
lights. The infrared range is more important for morphogenetic
responses.
Correct infrared balance is important for indoor
gardening. Common HID, LED or fluorescent bulbs may not provide
the correct amount of IR light, resulting in plants that are spindly,
leggy or which bloom to early. Indoor growers may wish to use lights
specially made for the purpose.
Plants that bloom need infrared light wavelengths to
produce healthy flowers. Infrared heat is important for plants
developing blooms as a source of what is essentially incubating heat.
